HISTORY - Chinese first began transplanting naturally dwarfed trees from mountainsides and clifftops into ornamental containers the Japanese, however have since been responsible for perfecting the art of cultivating Bonsai plants. The word “Bonsai” simply means “a plant in a tray”. The aim of Bonsai is to imitate in miniature the form of a mature tree that grows in the wild.
